Symbiotics Ltd - international specialists in human performance assessment and training solutions - recently collaborated with MoD representatives to complete an extensive needs analysis to determine areas of education and training that may be required by land forces engaged in C4ISTAR, (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance).

Nikki Heath, Founder and CEO of Symbiotics Ltd commented: “Symbiotics Ltd has extensive experience reviewing and training in military techniques and we have worked closely with the MoD over many years. This most recent project delivered a top-level view of current C4ISTAR education and training provision.
We received a Competency Framework, based on new MoD doctrine and our immediate objectives were to define the training needs to provide essential competencies and report on how to deliver the necessary programmes of education”.

Consultants from Symbiotics Ltd worked on a programme of audits and reviews over a period of 4 months at various locations and collaborated with subject matter experts to produce a comprehensive analysis of existing methods and techniques used by land forces, encompassing all relevant ranks and  considering all career streams.

Employing the analytical principles detailed in the Defence Systems Approach to Training (JSP 822), a report was produced that gave an overview of the current generalist training provision, in the form of a gap analysis and recommended a number of delivery options.  This study has provided an all-inclusive top-level view of current C4ISTAR education and training provision and identified a blend of education and training solutions to bolster and develop knowledge and skills.
