TEC Transnational secures training world first

Aerospace and defence quality specialist, TEC Transnational, announced today that it has secured a world first in training with its latest course aimed at IRCA-certified quality management system Lead Auditors.

This is the first course that the IRCA has on the new AS standards. TEC Transnational has introduced its IRCA Certified ISO 9001:2015 Auditor Transition Training course, to address changes to both ISO 9001:2015 and the anticipated changes to the soon-to-be-published AS9100:2016 series.

The two-day practical course is aimed at both certified IRCA QMS Auditors as well as individuals who have completed IRCA QMS training but have not registered with IRCA.

The course can be run on-site for up to 10 people or individuals can join public courses which are run throughout the year at the Woodland Grange Conference Centre in Warwickshire (above).

As well as understanding the key changes, participants will learn how to:
•    Understand the impact of existing approaches to auditing
•    Audit the series of standards (covering AS9100, AS9110, AS9120, AS9115 and AS9101) in the same way as certification bodies
•    Identify requirements for planning the quality management system
•    Interpret and align the requirements in the context of a specific organisation
•    Gain an understanding of the greater flexibility for maintained documented information and how it impacts the audit process
•    Audit the new requirements for leadership, risk management and organisational knowledge
•    Understand aerospace/defence requirements for product safety, ethical behaviour, human factors, counterfeit parts, configuration management and more

Dr David Scrimshire, Director of TEC, said: “This course is a world first in training and is an important process as all affected IRCA Certificated auditors will be required to complete such a course by September 2018. Anyone failing to do so before then will not be eligible for IRCA certification.”

“The course will enable participants to understand the substantial and key differences in the new international standards while it will also give them the chance to practice auditing the major changes.”

“It offers the opportunity for IRCA-certified QMS Lead Auditors to now upgrade to both ISO 9001:2015 and the AS9100:2016 series of standards.”

The course will culminate in a 45-minute written test to enable participants to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding.
