UK students to compete in UAS Challenge at Bruntingthorpe
Fourteen UK university teams will be convening at Bruntingthorpe Airfield in Leicestershire at the beginning of next month to pit their purpose-built life-saving unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) against each other in a new competition by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
The undergraduate teams have been tasked to design and build an unmanned aircraft system for a representative humanitarian mission. The winner of the challenge will be presented with a trophy on Thursday 2 July by Professor Richard Folkston, President of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
