UKCeB announces six finalists for Excellence Award

Each finalist will have a stand as part of the Good Practice Market Place. Delegates and the independent judges will evaluate the entries. At the end of Day Two, the overall winner will be announced and other commendations announced.
The six finalists are:
- Defence Medical Information Capability Programme (DMICP)
- Making medical and dental health records system accessible securely from any military location, anywhere – including operational theatres abroad and at sea – for 200,000 service personnel, 50,000 dependants and many veterans.
CGI (formerly Logica) - Deployment of the Data Quality Assessment Tool (DQAT)
- Following development of the DQAT as an initiative of the Joint Information Group, ACDS(Log Ops) and LSC Group have collaborated to demonstrate the practical application of the tool to improve the enterprise approach to data quality in various areas of the MoD.
MoD ACDS(Log Ops) & LSC Group Ltd - Open ASSET Management Information System
- OpenASSETTM is an application suite developed to facilitate management of assets in availability contracts, providing transparent, secure, real-time information to stakeholders adding affordable efficiency and accuracy throughout the support chain.
Thales UK - Providing Secure Collaboration for Small to Medium Enterprises
- Enabling Small to Medium Enterprises secure role based access to RLI Collaborative Working Environments (CWEs). This provides efficiencies, innovation and savings of both time and cost, to Team Defence.
Babcock International Group with the MoD, Capgemini & Aish Technology - Safeguarding the London 2012 Olympic Games
- BT and MoD delivered a solution at short notice for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Working closely with the MoD ISS Networks, BT Global Services extended the Defence Fixed Telecommunications Service (DFTS) that it already provides to the MoD as well as introducing a new service.
BT in partnership with the MoD ISS Networks - Transforming Business Services across Team Defence
- Since April 2012 management of Defence Business Services (DBS) has been provided Industry partners and MOD, transforming to a lean shared-services centre improving service levels and delivering savings in excess of £71m. A key contributor was the innovative software-based Decision Support Manager for DBS.
Serco, MoD DBS & MooD International
The annual open two day conference and forum attracts participation from a range of individuals and organisations across defence, including a strong presence from the MoD. The format for Defence Information 2013, organised by the UKCeB - a not-for-profit, membership organisation comprising over 800 individuals and 80 Defence & Aerospace companies plus - in partnership with Symposia At Shrivenham, combines interactive panels, key note speakers, case studies and a Good Practice Market Place featuring competition finalists for the annual UKCeB Excellence Award for joint MoD/Industry collaboration projects.
