Vector Aerospace to unveil upgraded AS350 Primary Fuel Tank at HAI Heli-Expo 2015

Vector Aerospace Helicopter Services – North America (HS-NA), will unveil an upgraded AS350 Primary Fuel Tank static display at HAI Heli-Expo 2015 in Orlando, Florida, 3-5 March.

Designed in cooperation with Robertson Fuel Systems LLC, the direct replacement Primary Fuel Tank features multiple safety enhancements; including all new modernised fuel retention technology, new components, and increased fuel capacity (567 Litres vs. 552 Litres). Vector Aerospace and Robertson Fuel Systems are targeting the AS350B2 retrofit market initially. The modernized fuel tank is also compatible with the AS350 series and EC130 aircraft.

“The combination of Vector Aerospace’s engineering expertise and Robertson’s extensive experience in fuel system development allows us to offer a modern, reliable safety enhancement option to the AS350 aircraft market,” said Elvis Moniz, vice president of operations at Vector HS-NA. “We are excited to be working with Robertson Fuel Systems to obtain STC certification for this fuel tank.”

Robertson's Aviation Fuel System Design Manager, Quinn Canole echoed Mr. Moniz's comments: "Robertson is the acknowledged world leader in survivable auxiliary fuel systems for military helicopters, but this civilian primary fuel system is an important new direction for us. We are delighted to collaborate with a company having Vector's breadth and depth of experience. We are confident this new product will only enhance the safety and serviceability of the AS350."

Vector Aerospace holds approvals from some of the world's leading turbine engine, airframe and avionics OEMs. Powerplants supported include a wide range of turboshafts, turboprops and turbofans from General Electric, Honeywell, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Rolls-Royce and Turbomeca. Vector Aerospace also provides support for a wide range of airframes from Airbus Helicopters, Bell, Boeing and Sikorsky. Its capabilities include major inspections and dynamic component overhaul, full-service avionics capability including aircraft rewiring, as well as mission equipment installation and glass cockpit upgrades.
