WOW launches new UK service to New York

WOW air, Iceland's only low-cost airline, has today announced a new service from the UK to New York, commencing November 2016 and operating daily, all year-round.

Flights will depart London Gatwick and Bristol for New York via Reykjavik. The service to Newark Liberty International Airport will begin on 25 November 2016.

WOW air’s expansion to New York follows the successful launch of transatlantic services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington D.C., Toronto and Montreal from both London Gatwick and Bristol, as of May 2016.

Skúli Mogensen, CEO of WOW air, said: “This year has certainly been an eventful one for us already! Having announced new routes to Canada and California plus our two new UK routes, the addition of New York is a reflection of our determination to keeping the momentum going and to continue changing the landscape of transatlantic travel.

“We know that New York is a desirable destination for many travellers from the UK and Europe, so it’s exciting to be able to add this vibrant, global city to our portfolio of North American destinations, making it even more accessible to those on a budget.”
