Inmarsat partner SD achieves Level 1 VAR status for Jet ConneX

Inmarsat partner Satcom Direct (SD) has achieved Level 1 Value Added Reseller (VAR) status for Jet ConneX, Inmarsat's seamless in-flight connectivity solution for business jet passengers.

This latest progression of the long-term partnership enables SD to provide our high-speed Wi-Fi service directly to customers. In return, customers benefit from the enhanced support available to them from SD, who can now be more responsive and resolve issues more rapidly.

The Level 1 VAR status will also position Jet ConneX as a key component of the newly-launched SD Xperience, which aims to simplify and improve business aviation connectivity and operations.

Combining cabin and cockpit communications services, aircraft connectivity hardware and flight operations software, SD Xperience satisfies the unique, evolving requirements of business aviation with tailored, customer-driven solutions for the global business aviation marketplace.

“Inmarsat’s Jet ConneX global inflight Wi-Fi has experienced unprecedented demand in the business aviation market, with more than 400 activations to date across the world,” said Philip Balaam, President, Inmarsat Aviation.

“Our successful, long-standing partnership with SD has been a key part of this success. We are confident that now, as a Level 1 VAR, SD will build on that momentum by placing Jet ConneX as the cornerstone of their new SD Xperience. We are proud to be their premium network provider.”

“SD was the first business aviation communications provider to provision its services and transmit data over Inmarsat’s first two Global Xpress satellites, and we’re delighted that our successful partnership continues to grow,” said David Greenhill, President, SD.

“Additionally, SD proprietary solutions enhance and optimise the Jet ConneX service to deliver unmatched performance in the air. These exclusive SD services allow operators to manage and maximise bandwidth, improve voice call quality, prioritise passenger data and more – bringing them a better Jet ConneX experience.”

Jet ConneX is the only global, high-speed Wi-Fi option available for business jets today and has already been installed and activated on over 400 business jets worldwide.

Offering the same fast and reliable connectivity in the air that has previously only been available on the ground, over Inmarsat’s Ka-band satellite network, Jet ConneX provides consistent global coverage across 100% of major airline routes, to provide a differentiator to do business wherever and whenever.
