Q8Aviation launches new fuel service at LCY

This follows London City Airport’s purchase of one of the two fuel farms at the airport with the aim of opening up the opportunity to supply fuel at the airport to more operators.

The new fuel farm arrangement stimulates fuel supply competition which should help our customers achieve fuel prices which are advantageous to them.”
Julian Amesbury Q8Aviation commercial director, said: “Q8Aviation already supplies the London airports of Heathrow and Gatwick and therefore the addition of London City Airport is a natural progression in our network development, increasing our UK operation to 14 airports. We are delighted to serve London City Airport which offers great opportunities with its rapidly expanding network.”
As a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, one of the world’s largest oil producers, Q8Aviation sources fuel for its UK operations from Kuwait, providing it with a supply chain that extends ‘from wellhead to wingtip’. Fuel is imported through Q8Aviation’s dedicated import facilities at Avonmouth and transported to London City Airport via the GPSS pipeline.
London City Airport is located three miles from the financial district of Canary Wharf and seven miles from the City of London. It is served by 10 airlines with a network of 47 destinations and welcomes over three million passengers each year.
