The free event will run from 10am to 1pm on Thursday 27th February and attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about a career at the airport by speaking to employers operating on-site.

Manchester Airports Group (MAG), which owns and operates Manchester Airport as well as East Midlands and London Stansted Airports, is advertising around 250 vacancies in areas like airport security, lounge hospitality and terminal operations.

Other employers who will be represented at the fair include:

  • Airlines, including Jet2.com and Ascend Airways
  • Retailers and franchise operators, including Boots, JD Sports, HMSHost, Estee Lauder Companies, SSP, Blakemore Retail and Airport Retail Enterprises
  • Airport service providers, including Dnata Catering, Swissport and ABM

The Airport Academy, which is run in partnership by Manchester Airport and Trafford & Stockport College Group, will be in attendance promoting its free pre-employment support programmes. These include fully accredited training schemes for those who are on Jobseekers’ Allowance and require additional support before applying for the jobs. The National Careers’ Service and Veterans’ Jobs Board will also have a stand.

Entry to the event must be booked in advance through Eventbrite, via this link.

More than 1,200 roles are expected to be available with more than 20 employers in total – and many of the jobs will be in the redeveloped Terminal 2, set to open in full later this year after a 10-year, £1.3 billion investment. More than two dozen new shops, bars and restaurants will be opening in the redeveloped space – and a range of employers are looking to take on hospitality staff to deliver a world-class experience to passengers in this new state-of-the-art facility.

At Manchester Airport we are proud to serve the North and that doesn’t just mean helping get people to the places they want to fly to. It also means fulfilling our role as a major employer in the region, giving local people the chance to access a range of rewarding careers and helping people earn money that boosts the North’s economy.

Chris Woodroofe – Managing Director, Manchester Airport, said: “We have hosted a number of these events in recent years as the airport’s operations have continued to grow. More than 1,300 people came to our most recent jobs fair in November and we got great feedback from employers.

“Twenty twenty-five is an exciting time to be embarking on a career at Manchester Airport, with the culmination of our decade-long programme to transform the airport now almost upon us. If you want this to be the year where your career takes off, we’d love to see you at Wythenshawe Forum later this month.”

Cllr John Hacking – Executive Member for Skills, Employment and Leisure, Manchester City Council, said: "We are thrilled to partner with MAG to bring this exciting Jobs Fair to the Wythenshawe Forum. After the success of our previous event, which attracted over 1,300 local residents, we are confident that this Fair will offer even more opportunities for jobseekers.

"With hundreds of roles available across various sectors, including customer service, administration, and security, this event is a great way for Manchester residents to connect with employers, particularly with the new T2 opening later this year. This initiative plays a vital role in supporting our local economy and helping individuals take the next step in their careers .”

Jobseekers securing roles with MAG can take advantage of a wide range of benefits. These include discounts on public transport when travelling to work, free on-site car parking whilst working and when going on holiday, an excellent pension scheme, training programmes, retail discounts plus many more.
