Scott Herman (above) joins SatVu as the company scales delivery of thermal intelligence for National Security, Economic and Environmental Monitoring missions.

Herman will lead SatVu’s technology and platform strategy, overseeing the evolution of its product development and analytics platform to support persistent, 24/7 day-and-night operational use by government and allied customers.

Bringing more than three decades of experience building and deploying space-based intelligence capabilities for the national security community, Herman’s career spans senior leadership roles across the commercial Earth observation sector, including CTO of BlackSky, CEO of Cognitive Space and Chief Product Officer at Maxar.

He has also served as a board director and strategic advisor to Earth observation and geospatial analytics startups, advising venture investors on next-generation sensing and analytics platforms, alongside global deployments with the U.S. National Intelligence Support Team supporting operational intelligence missions in geopolitical hotspots.

As Chief Technology Officer, Herman will lead SatVu’s end-to-end technology and product development strategy, overseeing the evolution of the company’s sensing, analytics and delivery platforms into a fully operational, defence-grade capability.

Drawing on deep experience operating space-based intelligence systems at scale, he brings a rare combination of product leadership, operational delivery and startup execution - having built and scaled platforms trusted for real-world missions across government and commercial markets. His appointment strengthens SatVu’s ability to translate advanced thermal sensing into decision-grade intelligence as the company moves through its next phase of growth and sustained operational delivery.

Tobias Reinicke, Co-Founder and previously Chief Technology Officer moves into the role of Chief Information Officer, overseeing the delivery of SatVu’s products to ensure a secure, resilient and world-class customer experience as the company enters sustained operations.

Reinicke also assumes oversight of satellite operations as the constellation scales, while retaining accountability for data security and platform integrity across the business.

In this role, he ensures SatVu’s systems, operations and customer data meet sovereign and national security requirements.

Scott Herman, CTO of SatVu, said: “High-resolution thermal intelligence provides a critical understanding of what’s happening on the ground. It reveals activity and operational status that other sensors miss - day or night.

"SatVu’s capability is designed for direct operational use, and I’m excited to help scale a platform that governments and commercial customers can rely on when the stakes are high.”

Anthony Baker, CEO and Co-Founder of SatVu, added: “Scott has spent his career delivering intelligence systems that are trusted in real-world missions. His experience across national security, commercial Earth observation, and technology leadership strengthens SatVu at a critical point as we move into sustained delivery. This is about building both the team and the capability that governments can depend on.”

Herman is a recognised advocate for New Space innovation, agile development and AI-driven analytics - particularly where they deliver measurable advantages for modern ISR operations.

Based in the Washington DC area, Herman will work closely with the SatVu Group as the company expands its operational footprint and supports customers across defence, intelligence, energy and financial markets.
