ALL.SPACE announced yesterday that Viasat has ordered multiple Hydra MAX terminals, marking an important commercial milestone for ALL.SPACE’s second-generation Hydra MAX terminal range.

The order reflects growing demand for resilient, high-capacity communications solutions that can operate across increasingly complex satellite network architectures. It also marks continued market momentum for Hydra MAX, as government and defence users seek flexible, interoperable SATCOM solutions that support communications on-the-move in demanding environments.

Hydra MAX delivers simultaneous multi-link connectivity, enabling operators to maintain multiple independent satellite links across commercial and military Ka-band networks spanning HEO, GEO, MEO and emerging LEO constellations. Built on ALL.SPACE’s lens-array digital beamforming technology, the terminal delivers class-leading scanning performance and supports reliable comms-on-the-move across land and maritime platforms.

How resilient connectivity can be maintained on the move in challenging environments

With up to 500 MHz of instantaneous bandwidth per beam and 1 GHz of aggregate bandwidth in the Ka-band, Hydra MAX supports high-capacity, mission-critical communications across land, maritime and mobile command operations. Through intelligent link management and policy-based routing, operators can dynamically route traffic across available links to help maintain connectivity and performance in degraded or network-constrained environments.

This order builds on growing collaboration between ALL.SPACE and Viasat to expand assured Ka-band connectivity for government and defence users. Hydra MAX is now operational on Viasat’s NextGen Ka-band network, enabling the platform to deliver resilient, high-performance communications across Viasat’s global infrastructure, including Mil-Ka Band and extending the operational flexibility of ALL.SPACE’s multi-orbit terminal architecture.

Engineered for resilience, Hydra MAX combines inherent resistance to jamming with a network and vendor-agnostic open architecture, enabling interoperability across current and future satellite networks and reducing reliance on any single provider or orbit. The result is a terminal built to support modern SATCOM architectures, where mobility, resilience and assured access across multiple networks are critical to operational success.

Maintaining assured communications interoperability with advanced network capabilities

Rod McCurdy, CEO of ALL.SPACE, said: “This order reflects the strong market response to Hydra MAX since its commercial launch and underscores growing demand for resilient, multi-orbit connectivity among government and defence users. With Hydra MAX now approved to operate on Viasat’s global integrated Ka-band network, customers can combine the benefits of Viasat’s assured global infrastructure with ALL.SPACE’s true simultaneous multi-link capability to maintain high-integrity communications wherever resilient connectivity is required.”

ALL.SPACE and Viasat are translating technical interoperability and network integration into real-world operational capabilities for government and defence users who require resilient mission communications while on-the-move in contested environments.

Vic Farah, Senior Vice President, Government Services and Solutions, Viasat, said: “Government and defence users need communications solutions that are resilient, flexible and ready to perform in demanding operating environments. Hydra MAX operations on Viasat’s global NextGen Ka-band network, combined with its advanced multi-link, multi-orbit capability, provides a powerful solution for mobile users who require assured, high-performance connectivity.”
