Chapman Freeborn OBC partners with Freeze Carbon on emissions measurement

Chapman Freeborn OBC, a global On-Board Courier (OBC) logistics provider, has partnered with Freeze Carbon to strengthen its approach to emissions measurement and mitigation across time-critical aviation logistics operations.

The partnership, established in October 2025, supports the company’s broader climate action strategy focused on reducing and addressing residual emissions.

Unlike conventional freight planning, OBC operations are often arranged at short notice and across multiple regions. Shipments frequently move on the next available flight, leaving limited room to optimize routes or consolidate loads from an emissions perspective.

In this context, the emphasis is placed on accurate measurement, operational efficiency, and mitigation of residual emissions that cannot yet be avoided due to the time-critical nature of the service. Freeze Carbon’s digital tools enable Chapman Freeborn OBC to calculate its emissions footprint more consistently, improve transparency, and support mitigation efforts across its value chain.

The collaboration also provides access to high-quality climate projects that deliver measurable environmental and social impact. By supporting verified initiatives, the company contributes to broader mitigation efforts while continuing to prioritize emission reduction and operational efficiency wherever feasible.

Nicolas Estrada, Project Manager at Chapman Freeborn OBC, said: “Through our partnership with Freeze Carbon, we are enhancing how we track our emissions and address residual emissions in a structured and transparent way, while maintaining the speed and reliability our customers expect.

“Looking ahead, our focus is on measurable climate action – improving efficiencies, engaging with partners, and contributing to mitigation efforts across our operations.”

For OBC providers, where operational urgency is inherent to the service model, climate action must be aligned with real operational constraints. As a result, emissions management is increasingly integrated into daily planning, with a focus on lowering emissions where possible and mitigating remaining impact through credible, data-driven approaches.

The Freeze Carbon partnership reflects an operationally grounded approach to sustainability in aviation logistics, combining improved emissions measurement, value chain engagement, and support for climate projects that help mitigate residual emissions while maintaining high service performance standards.
