Intralink to drive Amprius drone battery tech into South Korea

Abingdon headquartered Intralink, an international business development consultancy, has been appointed by Silicon Valley battery specialist Amprius Technologies, to deepen its presence in South Korea, one of Asia’s most active markets for drones, robotics and advanced mobility.

Amprius develops high-performance silicon anode lithium-ion cells for the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), robotics, aerospace and electric mobility markets, where battery performance can directly affect flight time, payload capacity, uptime and system range. 

South Korea is an increasingly important market for these sectors. The country has a strong base of electronics, battery, aerospace and defence manufacturers, along with growing investment in next-generation drone and robotics platforms. This creates a meaningful opportunity for Amprius to work with both OEMs and battery pack partners looking for higher-performance energy storage solutions. 

In UAV applications, higher-performance batteries can translate into longer flight times, improved acceleration and support for heavier payloads, while reducing the need for frequent recharging. These attributes are relevant across commercial and industrial uses including inspection, logistics, communications and defence-related systems.

Amprius supplies its batteries directly to OEMs and works with battery pack manufacturers to integrate its cells into broader systems. To support those opportunities, the company has established a contract manufacturing network in South Korea, giving it a closer operating base and greater flexibility as it scales with customer demand.

Intralink’s Seoul-based team has now launched a dedicated business development programme to support Amprius’ expansion in South Korea. The initial phase of its work focuses on identifying and prioritising opportunities across the nation’s drone and robotics ecosystem. This will be followed by targeted engagement with prospective partners and customers, exploratory meetings and the development of a robust sales pipeline for Amprius.
