Ella Haapiainen appointed Head of Siemens Advanta, Great Britain & Ireland

Siemens has appointed Ella Haapiainen to lead its consultancy arm, Siemens Advanta, in the UK and Ireland, with a mission to help organisations tackle key challenges including digitalisation, decarbonisation and operational efficiency.

Ella Haapiainen (above) brings more than 20 years’ experience in digital transformation, software and technology consultancy to the UK-lead role and will spearhead Siemens Advanta’s growth in the UK and Ireland. Ella moves from Siemens Advanta in EMEA, which she joined in 2023 as Senior Vice President. Previously, Ella held senior roles at Salesforce, IBM and Microsoft.

Siemens Advanta delivers comprehensive strategy and operational consultancy across some of the UK’s most high-profile projects, spanning sectors such as aerospace, consumer packaged goods, real estate and power and water utilities. Notably, Siemens Advanta is leading the development of a digital twin of East Birmingham, a pioneering initiative to support sustainable urban planning. 

Meanwhile it has also supported the University of East London in developing an Internet of Things (IoT) enabled Living Lab, which is a central source of data from across the campus that academics and students can use to understand how technology can support sustainability.

Under Ella’s leadership, Siemens Advanta will continue to support customers enhance resilience, decarbonisation and digitally-enabled transformation using technology. She also joins the wider Siemens UK and Ireland business’ senior leadership team where she will steer growth and business development.
