ISTEC Services Limited, a British company with nearly four decades of operationally proven experience in weapons integration, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at AUSA with NP Aerospace Canada to support the growth of in-country defence programmes.

Formed in 1989, ISTEC Services Limited is the UK’s principal supplier of high-quality, precision-engineered small-arm and medium-calibre gun mounts and weapon ancillaries, designing and manufacturing specialist military equipment which supports armed forces worldwide. ISTEC has an operationally proven global reputation for the supply of ITAR-free, robust, high-quality crew-served weapon mount solutions and other countermeasures and ancillaries for military use across land, sea and air platforms. Their solutions are system-, platform-, and OEM-agnostic.

Anne Quelch, Director at ISTEC, said: “ISTEC is extremely pleased to be signing this MoU with NP Aerospace Canada at AUSA. Over recent years, ISTEC has worked hard on expanding our global partnerships and cooperation agreements to ensure we deliver the best possible support to our international customers and maximise global opportunities. We have vast experience in working closely with NP Aerospace on any number of key projects, so are looking forward to extending that success into Canada.”

How integrated Canadian defence systems will be underpinned by in-country support

NP Aerospace Canada is an armour manufacturer and vehicle integrator and a significant part of the NP Aerospace global business, doubling in size over the last two years in line with growth in military contracts. Collectively, NP Aerospace has over 100 years of experience, providing high-performance defence solutions and integrated systems and support solutions for major vehicle OEMs.

The MoU provides for in-country integration, assembly, repair, maintenance, sustainment and support services for ISTEC products and technologies across Canada. ISTEC retains ownership of its intellectual property and provides the technical expertise and product authority.

NP Aerospace Canada will provide access to its significant maintenance and repair facilities, which have doubled in footprint in the last year and wider engineering resources and extensive support infrastructure. Both companies will also collaborate on in-country opportunities and potential agreements that are of mutual benefit.

James Kempston, CEO, NP Aerospace said: “ISTEC is one of our exceptionally trusted mission systems suppliers. Over the years, together, we have delivered battle-proven vehicle integration solutions to meet urgent operational requirements across multiple platforms. Therefore, I am pleased to sign this new MoU with NP Aerospace Canada and confident in the mutual benefit it will deliver, as the Canadian defence market continues to grow.”
