Saab opens UK site to support British Army training

The new facility will serve as a hub for cutting-edge training technologies and services, enabling the British Army to maintain operational readiness through realistic and immersive training environments. With this addition, Saab UK now operates five Training & Simulation locations across the UK and one in Germany.
For 30 years, Saab has worked closely with the UK Ministry of Defence and the British Army to deliver innovative training systems – from soldier-level solutions to multi-domain exercises – ensuring forces are prepared for the complexities of modern warfare.
Andy Fraser, Group Managing Director at Saab UK, said: “This new site demonstrates our commitment to supporting the British Army with innovative training capabilities and investing in the UK. For over three decades, we have worked together to ensure soldiers are prepared for the demands of modern operations and this expansion also brings new opportunities for local employment and economic growth.”
Previous developments include a £20 million contract amendment to support British Army live training announced in 2024, using Saab’s latest high-fidelity simulation technology and interoperability standards.
This investment reflects Saab’s ongoing growth in the UK and its role in strengthening national defence capabilities.
