BAE Systems to support UK artillery capability

BAE Systems has been awarded a four-year framework agreement to supply artillery and armoured vehicle weapon system components in support of the UK Ministry of Defence.

The agreement, awarded by Babcock Land Defence on behalf of the Ministry of Defence, reflects BAE Systems’ long-standing role in providing the UK armed forces with critical components that help sustain essential land capabilities, including the 105mm Light Gun.

The BAE Systems-designed 105mm Light Gun is one of the world’s most battle-tested artillery capabilities, renowned for its mobility and reliability. The framework agreement will support the continued availability of critical components for the UK armed forces across the Light Gun and wider artillery portfolio, ensuring equipment remains ready to meet operational demands.

How delivery of critical artillery capability in the UK is maintained

The agreement follows BAE Systems’ continued investment in critical artillery capability in the UK, including work to restore domestic production capacity and support the delivery of British-designed 105mm and 155mm artillery barrels from Sheffield.
