Barbara Supplee appointed CEO of Serco North America
Serco has announced the appointment of Barbara Supplee as Chief Executive Officer of its North American business. She will succeed Michael LaRouche, who will leave Serco in late September to take up a listed CEO role outside the Group.
Barbara has more than 30 years’ experience supporting government customers across the defence, intelligence and federal sectors. She joins Serco from SAIC where, as Executive Vice President, she drove a multibillion-dollar portfolio serving United States’ military customers across US Army, Navy and Marine Corps programmes.
Prior to that she held senior leadership positions at SAIC, CACI International and BAE Systems, leading large-scale operations, driving growth and delivering mission-critical programmes for government customers. Earlier in her career, she served at the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and as a US Navy intelligence specialist.
Strategic support for North American defence and national security missions
Anthony Kirby, Serco Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “Barbara brings a powerful combination of operational leadership, customer understanding and growth experience. Throughout her career she has led large and complex businesses supporting some of the United States’ most important defence and national security missions.
“We have a clear strategy in place and Barbara’s experience aligns closely with many of the markets, customers and opportunities that are important to the delivery of that strategy. The Board and I are delighted that Barbara will be joining Serco and leading our North American business through its next phase of development.”
Barbara Supplee said: “I am delighted to join Serco and excited by the opportunities ahead. Serco has a strong reputation for delivering vital services to government customers and a talented team dedicated to supporting critical missions every day. I look forward to building on the company’s momentum and creating new opportunities for our customers, employees, and communities.”
Under Barbara’s leadership, Serco in North America is set to continue advancing capabilities in autonomy, command and control, systems engineering and integration, modernisation and other mission-critical services that support customer priorities.
