MAG partners with Mo T 'The Airport Guy' to inspire young aviation professionals

Manchester Airports Group (MAG) has entered into a partnership with aviation content creator ‘Mo T The Airport Guy’ to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals.

In an industry first, the UK’s largest airports group will work with Mo T over the next 12 months to showcase the variety of exciting careers on offer across its airports and inspire the next generation of airport professionals.

The partnership will see new content produced each month going behind the scenes at all three of MAG’s airports. Videos will feature a wide range of colleagues and teams, highlighting the unique roles and careers available in the aviation sector.  Framed as 'Mo tries every job at the airport', it will engage with anyone and everyone interested in working at one of MAG’s airports.

This announcement comes after MAG renewed its partnership with Fantasy Wings, a UK organisation dedicated to improving diversity within the aviation sector, with Mo T working at Fantasy Wings' Head of Learning.

MAG will continue working with Fantasy Wings to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals, supporting young people through year-long programmes that will provide monthly conferences to learn about various areas of the aviation industry, mentorship and development opportunities- as well as exposure to a real-life airport environment. Across January, MAG attended Fantasy Wings conferences across the country in Manchester, London and Birmingham, speaking with attendees about how technology is enhancing airport operations and the wide variety of career opportunities on offer across it’s airports.

As a major employer in all three of its neighbouring communities, MAG understands the value of engaging with potential future aviation professionals at the earliest opportunity. This partnership will allow MAG to reach young people in a new and exciting way and further the Group’s commitment to providing education and employment opportunities for all.

MAG – which owns and operates Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands airports – served more than 64 million passengers across 2024, with more than one in five UK airport passengers using a MAG airport during the busy summer period.  The Group employs more than 7,600 colleagues with more than 40,000 on-site jobs across its airports.

Mohammed Taher or as he is known online – Mo T, The Airport Guy – has amassed more than a million followers across his social media channels with engaging and educational videos about aviation. Mo is also an ‘Aviation Ambassador’ for the Department for Transport, with a clear focus on connecting the talent of the future to aviation.

Emma Crossland, Chief People Officer at MAG, said: “We are delighted to have agreed this partnership with Mo, which will enable us to showcase the fantastic array of jobs available at our airports to a whole new audience and in an exciting and engaging way.

“At MAG, we want everyone to feel they can access the opportunities we have on offer and to inspire them about a varied and long-lasting career in aviation. That is why I am also pleased that we have renewed our partnership with Fantasy Wings to continue showcasing what our industry has to offer to young people from all backgrounds.

“We can't wait to take people behind the scenes and know Mo will do an amazing job of bringing to life the exciting world of airports.”

Mo T, The Airport Guy, said: “I am extremely excited to be starting this partnership with MAG, which will provide a fantastic opportunity to engage with and highlight all the amazing roles available across MAG’s airports, and within the aviation sector as a whole.”

“I will focus on highlighting not only the roles on offer,  but also the people behind them, showcasing the amazing teams of people that work right across the airport campus, and the opportunities for growth and development that a career in aviation offers.”

MAG previously collaborated with Mo for the publication of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report in November, with a video which highlighted the breadth of education, skills and employment support on offer across the Group’s Airports and visiting its on-site Aerozone education facilities.

The videos created through the partnership will be featured on LinkedIn, X, Instagram and TikTok on both Mo’s social media channels and on MAG’s three platforms for Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands.

During the course of the series, Mo will also feature MAG’s education and employment facilities, including its Aerozone interactive classrooms at all three airports, the Stansted Airport College and its Airport Academies, which connect jobseekers with opportunities.
