ODU’s sealed connectors and contacts are used wherever absolute tightness is required under challenging conditions, such as in the deep sea. They are vacuum-tight, watertight and dust-tight, designed to fulfil the sealing requirements for electrical transmission interfaces that are becoming increasingly demanding.

The company's connections and customised special solutions meet even the most challenging demands for reliable sealing, whether required for IP-tested standard connectors or hermetically sealed connections for high-pressure applications.

ODU Contacts
As well as manufactureing sealed connectors, ODU also supply custom contacts for other OEM’s to incorporate into their own systems. For example:

  • An Ashton-based manufacturer is offering a new system that allows the replacement of lighting in hazardous areas, such as offshore rigs, without breaking the lifetime seal of the enclosures. Custom ODU LAMTAC contacts are being used in their plugs.
  • An Essex-based underwater cable manufacturer is incorporating custom ODU TURNTAC contacts into their own design of high-pressure underwater connectors.

ODU are specialists in the design and manufacture of sealed connectors and contacts for use in the most extreme and demanding operating conditions. They manufacture completely in-house, with a short supply-chain and thereby ensure flexibility with short lead times for both protypes and small quantity production.
