Sigma Advanced Systems, the parent company of Nasmyth, has agreed to acquire UK aerospace manufacturer Bromford Precision Solutions in a deal valued at approximately £11.89 million.

The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of July 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

Sigma said the move will strengthen Nasmyth’s manufacturing capability and expand the group’s position within the global aerospace and defence supply chain.

Founded in 1988 and based in Leicestershire, Bromford Precision Solutions manufactures complex aero-engine rings, compressor casings, ducts, brackets and lock plates. The company is recognised for its advanced machining capability and holds approvals from Rolls-Royce and Siemens.

Nasmyth expands aerospace manufacturing capability

Bromford’s capabilities will complement Nasmyth’s existing strengths in precision machining, aero-engine structures and critical engine components.

The enlarged group will support customers across civil aerospace, defence and power generation programmes, offering a wider range of precision manufacturing services from concept through to production.

Sigma said the acquisition will also provide additional manufacturing capacity, complementary engineering expertise and improved supply chain resilience.

Sunil Kalidindi, chief executive of Sigma Advanced Systems, said: “This acquisition strengthens Sigma’s position within one of the world’s most demanding aero engine supply chains.

“Bromford brings precision manufacturing capability that complements our existing businesses, and together we are creating one of the most capable manufacturing platforms for complex aero engine rings, casings and structural components.”

UK and India aerospace manufacturing platform

The acquisition forms part of Sigma Advanced Systems’ international growth strategy and will see Bromford work alongside Nasmyth within the group’s UK manufacturing operations.

John Rooney, chief executive of Nasmyth, said the aerospace industry’s production ramp-up was increasing demand for manufacturing partners with scale, expertise and long-term engineering capability.

He said: “The addition of Bromford significantly strengthens Nasmyth’s capabilities in complex aero engine manufacturing and further enhances the solutions we can provide to customers across the global aerospace and defence sectors.”

Ross Niner, managing director of Bromford Precision Solutions, said joining Sigma would allow the company to accelerate growth and expand its capabilities while continuing to support existing customers.

Nasmyth and Sigma Advanced Systems will exhibit at Farnborough International Airshow 2026, where representatives will discuss the group’s expanded manufacturing capabilities following the Bromford deal.
