As part of its mission to transform technology into field-ready capability at pace, UK Connect has today launched a dedicated defence business, UK Connect Defence, aimed at rapid deployment of supportable connectivity in challenging operational environments.

UK Connect Defence is launched today, to build on UK Connect’s 13 years of experience in designing, integrating, deploying and supporting resilient communications and connectivity solutions across demanding remote environments for the UK construction industry and other critical infrastructure agencies.

The newly established UK Connect Defence is a dedicated defence-facing business. Over recent years, UK Connect has been involved in the delivery of a number of fast-paced connectivity solutions to meet defence sector requirements that some traditional providers were less able to meet.

Why an integrated outcome-led approach aims to meet military requirements

Spearheaded by PJ Farr, a forces veteran and original business founder, the company’s roots combine a passion to support the military with clear demand signals leading to the establishment of a sector-specific business and brand.

The business adopts a deliberately outcome-led approach. Combining the integration of appropriate commercial, proprietary and specialist technologies with in-house developed and manufactured specialist products, the new business will deliver the required capability to meet the needs of the military, or other agencies, operating in austere environments globally.

Monitoring secure connectivity for operational continuity

PJ Farr, Founder of UK Connect Defence said: “As a veteran, I have a deep desire to deliver easy-to-use, robust and reliable products and services to the military and that’s partly why I’ve launched UK Connect Defence today. As well, we’re building on 13 years of proven and trusted connectivity solutions provision to over 3,000 locations, all being proactively monitored 24/7 to ensure operational continuity.

“The launch of UK Connect Defence consolidates and builds on the work we have already begun with defence sector customers, creating a dedicated team to better meet their unique demands.”

UK Connect Defence founder PJ Farr will be highlighting UK Connect Defence’s capabilities at the DVD 2026 event being held later this week (16th – 17th September) at UTAC Millbrook.
