WCS and ITA to collaborate on composites

Following the relocation of the ITA EASA Part 21J business to Ireland in Jan 2021, the relationship with WCS, an EASA & FAA approved Part 145 maintenance organisation, resident on the Shannon Airport Campus, has developed to a point where it is recognised that the combined strengths of both businesses in the design and repair of composite components can be leveraged to offer fully certified repair solutions for composite assemblies serving an expanding community of international airlines, MRO and lessor clients.
This is formally acknowledged in a collaboration agreement where the parties agree to explore mutually beneficial commercial opportunities in the field of aviation repair and modification solutions with the aim of offering a cost effective ‘one stop shop’ for integrated repair and modifications servicing unserviceable composite components.
Fred Gorrie (above), MD of ITA said: “I am delighted to be working with Paul Kennedy and his team at WCS to provide repair and overhaul solutions for large scale composite components such as slats, flaps, ailerons and thrust reversers and I’m sure that this will further develop into an expanding portfolio of components on multiple platforms.”
