EDM opens new facility in Malaysia

This expansion marks a further step in EDM’s global growth strategy, strengthening its ability to support customers across multiple regions while increasing overall manufacturing flexibility and capacity.

The addition of the Malaysia facility (above) means EDM are well placed to support airline customers in the ASEAN region, the Americas and Europe with manufacturing operations at three key locations: Manchester (UK), STS Tulsa (USA) and Simginuity EDM (Kuala Lumpa, Malaysia).

The expansion into Malaysia introduces a more distributed manufacturing model.

EDM will operate a coordinated, three-site manufacturing model:

• Manchester (UK) – Core engineering, design and high-value manufacturing 
• STS Tulsa (USA) – Manufacturing & Support for North American programmes and customers 
• Simginuity EDM (Malaysia) – Regional manufacture & support for ASEAN markets 

This approach ensures EDM retains its core engineering capability in the UK while building a more scalable and globally aligned delivery model.

With manufacturing now spanning the UK, USA and Southeast Asia, the business is structured to deliver projects at scale while maintaining the quality and engineering standards it is known for.

EDM Ltd designs and manufactures training simulators and equipment for both civil aviation and defence. In aviation, this includes cabin crew training devices such as Door Trainers, Cabin Service Trainers and CEETs, supplied to airlines and training organisations worldwide. Alongside this, EDM delivers a range of defence training solutions, supporting military programmes with engineered systems built at its Manchester facility.
