Smith Myers to supply ARTEMIS Systems to Airbus Helicopters
Smith Myers has secured a major contract with Airbus Helicopters, under the framework of which ARTEMIS Mobile Phone Detection and Location Systems (MPDLS) will be factory-fitted and offered as a retrofit option across Airbus Helicopters' fleet of aircraft.

The Airbus contract includes:
- Factory fitted and/or retrofit option (ARTEMIS)
- Full Integrated Logistics Support & Lifecycle Management
- Training & Simulation
The Smith Myers ARTEMIS suite of MPDLS has been saving lives worldwide. Recently selected for major UK, European and North American SAR and Coast Guard programmes, ARTEMIS is designed to accurately locate mobile telephones in challenging airborne environments using only two small antennas.
The ARTEMIS MPDLS can detect a phone at extended ranges up to 35Km and provides unique capabilities such as mass-mapping and geofencing to minimise crew workload. The system is automated, quick and accurate, leading to more rapid positive outcomes, even in low light/IMC conditions and operates stand-alone with no requirement for the involvement of Mobile Network Operators.
