Global aerospace OEM, Ontic, has officially opened its new dedicated MRO facility in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, a purpose-built site set to transform how the company supports airlines and operators worldwide.

The 72,000sq ft facility forms part of Ontic’s $30 million global investment in MRO capacity and capability, spanning both sides of the Atlantic alongside the company’s new Miramar, Florida site.

Brian Sartain, Chief Operating Officer of Ontic, said: “The opening of our Tewkesbury MRO facility marks a step-change in how we support our customers. By consolidating all our UK aftermarket expertise in one dedicated site, we are investing in the people, capability and infrastructure to consistently deliver a faster, more responsive and more transparent service. Alongside our new Miramar facility in the US, this is a significant milestone in our commitment to keeping established fleets flying safely for decades to come.”

Building towards fully operational MRO capability

Tewkesbury brings together around 200 MRO specialists – engineers, technicians, customer service, supply chain and logistics experts – into a single hub equipped with dedicated IT systems, pneumatic and hydraulic infrastructure, an avionics workshop with an ISO7 clean room, non-destructive testing capability, a machine shop and a dark room, with additional space built in for future growth.

Dave Mayne, MRO Director for Europe at Ontic, said: “I am really pleased with the progress we have made in bringing Tewkesbury to life. Our teams have worked hard to launch the new site quickly so we can begin delivering the benefits of a dedicated MRO facility to our customers. Every decision – from product to people to process – has been guided by that goal.”

In December 2025, Tewkesbury passed a series of critical audits, achieving BSI AS9100 certification along with Part 145 approvals from both the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was also awarded under the CAA oversight..

The team is working towards CAAC approvals and expect to be established early Q4. Product lines are now transferring to the Tewkesbury facility, with the site continuing to build toward full operational capability.

Why repairing components to original OEM standards delivers longer-lasting repairs

As the licensed OEM for thousands of product lines, Ontic holds the proprietary data, tooling and test equipment required to repair components to original OEM standards, delivering longer-lasting, warranty-backed repairs at the speed and reliability operators expect. The Tewkesbury facility is central to this commitment, giving customers access to a full, independent MRO capability designed to support their aircraft and components across the entire lifecycle.

From the new site, customers will benefit from lifetime repair and maintenance support that ensures long-term continuity, consistent standards and sustained product expertise well beyond an aircraft’s entry into service.

Ontic’s OEM position also enables ongoing improvements to parts reliability, including repair enhancements, material upgrades and obsolescence management, helping operators reduce in-service issues, improve dispatch reliability and lower total cost of ownership over time.

The facility will also be supported by Ontic’s dedicated 24/7 Aircraft on Ground (AOG) service, providing rapid access to technical expertise, spares and repair solutions whenever operational continuity is critical.

Combined with Ontic’s worldwide MRO and support network, the Tewkesbury facility strengthens the company’s ability to support operators wherever they fly, with consistent quality, responsive turnaround times and regulatory approvals aligned to regional and operational needs.
