Held at RC Fornax’s Bristol office, the event highlighted the vital role small and medium-sized enterprises play in delivering pace, innovation and resilience across the defence sector.

Through panel discussions and open dialogue, attendees explored the realities facing defence today from evolving threats and increasing operational demand, to the need for faster delivery and more effective collaboration. A key theme throughout was the importance of reducing barriers to entry for SMEs and enabling smarter, more agile routes to market.

Speakers emphasised that traditional delivery models alone are no longer sufficient. Instead, defence increasingly relies on SMEs for niche expertise, rapid innovation, and the ability to respond quickly to changing requirements. ADS continues to support this shift by fostering environments where meaningful conversations between industry and MoD can take place.

The event also showcased emerging digital approaches aimed at improving how defence organisations access SME capability, reinforcing the appetite across the sector for practical solutions that accelerate delivery while maintaining confidence and rigour.
