Anotec, part of the Anochrome Group, will start offering the service immediately in response to a rise in demand as it strengthens its capability to support OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers operating in demanding sectors.

SurTec 650 is a highly effective, trivalent chromium passivation (TCP) process used primarily for aluminium and alloys and is frequently specified as a RoHS compliant pre-treatment prior to painting.

It offers excellent bare corrosion protection comparable to hexavalent passivation.

Steve Norman, Commercial Director at the Anochrome Group, said: “Following positive meetings with SurTec, we are delighted to add this process to our offering.

“The dynamic and agile nature of the Anochrome Group means we have been able to propose, approve and integrate the process within a matter of weeks for the benefit of our customers.

“We’re ready to talk to any manufacturer or Tier 1 supplier that requires SurTec 650 at volume and with quick turnaround times.”

Fulfilling all requirements of ELV and WEEE as well as RoHS, SurTec 650 will be applied at Anotec via immersion.

The product forms a shiny coating that also provides an ideal pre-treatment for painting, powder coating and adhesive bonding.

The process is compatible with alloyed and cast aluminium, offering manufacturers a versatile and easy-to-handle solution across a range of industrial applications.

The product meets or exceeds key aerospace and industrial standards including MIL-DTL-81706B and MIL-DTL-5541F, while also being approved by QUALICOAT.

With strong heat resistance, low contact resistance and proven salt spray performance, SurTec 650 provides reliable, environmentally responsible surface protection for demanding operating conditions.

The introduction of SurTec 650 is the latest step in Anochrome’s growth in the aerospace sector, with Anotec recently achieving the crucial AS9100 certification after a rigorous auditing process.

Steve added: “Aerospace is a strategically important sector for us and I am delighted we can now help more customers with specialist high-performance coatings.”
