Austrian Airlines launches Manchester-Vienna service

Starting on 10 September, 2015, Austrian Airlines will fly up to once a day from Manchester to Vienna.

In addition to the existing 28 weekly flights to London, the additional frequencies from Manchester to Vienna up to seven times per week strengthen connections in both directions as well as the Austrian Airlines network.

The new flight service to one of Europe’s most frequently visited cities comprises an optimal offering for local flight traffic to connect Manchester with the Austrian business location. Vienna is an international congress and conference venue and continues to be ranked as the city with the best quality of life. Moreover, Austrian Airlines offers the best possible transfer connections to the federal provinces of Austria as well as to Central and Eastern Europe.

Stephen Turner, Commercial Director at Manchester Airport added: “It is pleasing to see Austrian Airlines launch a service to Vienna from Manchester Airport, the UK’s global gateway from the North.

“With over 22m people living within our two hour catchment, two full length runways and all-time record passenger numbers, Manchester Airport has, and will continue to have, the available capacity and demand to meet the needs of our catchment that extends as far north as Scotland and South to the Midlands.”
