Avon Protection and IGG aim at increasing tech transfer to UAE

Avon Protection announced at this week's IDEX event that it is deepening collaboration with its exclusive in-country partner, Abu Dhabi headquartered International Golden Group (IGG), as it seeks new opportunities to deliver advanced protective equipment for UAE Armed forces, Ministry of Interior and other defence and security authorities.

Together with IGG, Avon Protection has delivered over 100,000 Air Purifying Respirators (APRs) to the Government of the UAE since 2017.

In line with the UAE’s stated mission to strengthen its own sovereign capabilities in defence equipment, Avon Protection and IGG are deepening their exclusive partnership to support localised production and assembly of Avon Protection equipment via technology transfer.

“We have been fortunate to be a trusted supplier to the Ministries of Defense and Interior in UAE for the past two decades, a relationship that has been in large part enabled and supported by our partnership with IGG,” John Hodges, Sales Director, Middle East, South and Central Asia, Avon Protection, said. “We now see significant potential to deepen this relationship and support the development of UAE industry into what has the potential to become a leading global supplier of defence equipment.

“Developing strategic national skillsets and manufacturing capability in defence is something we have extensive experience of, and we look forward to continuing to share this expertise via our work  with IGG in support of UAE’s economic goals.”
