Babcock awarded electro-mechanical training contract extension
Babcock have been awarded a contract extension worth up to £19 million by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to continue delivering electro-mechanical training to the Defence College of Technical Training (DCTT).
The extension to the Electro-Mechanical Training Contract (EMTC2), will see Babcock continue the delivery of training to students from across the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.
Under the contract, Babcock provide a comprehensive range of training services, including the design, planning, scheduling and delivery of courses, alongside support for more than 2,500 items of equipment, ranging from armoured vehicles and weapons systems to specialist training aids. The contract also includes multimedia development services to support modern learning delivery.

Babcock have delivered electro-mechanical training to the DCTT for more than a decade and employs over 300 personnel at MoD Lyneham in Wiltshire and HMS Sultan in Hampshire.

The contract extension will run for an initial five months, with the potential to extend to nine months.
