Babcock wins BSC health and safety management award

Babcock International’s Rosyth site has won a prestigious Sword of Honour from the British Safety Council (BSC) for the twelfth time.

One of 61 organisations worldwide to achieve the award in 2018, Babcock had to obtain the maximum five stars in the British Safety Council’s health and safety management audit scheme over a 12-month period and demonstrate to an independent panel of experts that it has a proven track record of excellence in managing risks to workers’ health and safety from the company’s activities throughout the business.

Sean Donaldson, Managing Director of Babcock’s Rosyth site, said: "We’re really pleased to receive this important award for a twelfth time. It underlines our commitment to health and safety across our business.

"We strive to achieve the very highest standards in all areas of our work and we are grateful for the commitment of everyone in Babcock’s Rosyth facilities to ensure that our employees go home safe every day. It’s no coincidence that we have been successful, as health and safety management underpins everything that we do on-site."

Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, said: "I would like to congratulate Babcock and its staff for the huge commitment to keeping the workplace safe and healthy, and for minimising risks to the environment from day-to-day activities."
