CopStrong is the Police Scotland functional strength and conditioning programme which aims to enhance police officers’ fitness levels, reduce the risk of injury, and improve their performance on duty.

The previous fitness facility was lacking the space and equipment required for effective group training and strength and conditioning sessions. BeaverFit understood Police Scotland’s commitment to operational fitness and injury prevention. The team designed, delivered, and installed a 20ft Container Gym, complete with modular, integrated internal storage, and external rigging, compatible with all BeaverFit attachments to amplify group training sessions.

John Owen, BeaverFit’s Commercial Sales Manager, said: “It was great to win the opportunity to supply and deliver the 20ft Performance Locker for the Scottish Police. The further training opportunities that this solution provides, in all conditions and weathers, should go a huge way to ready the cadets for the physical involvement that the job will entail.”

By expanding and reconfiguring Police Scotland’s fitness space with the 20ft Performance Locker, BeaverFit increased the functional area, allowing for broader group training opportunities. The BeaverFit team provided a designated fitness area that utilises the unused space, incorporating training accessories and equipment.

Tom Beaver, Managing Director of BeaverFit, said: “The optimisation of the space and specialised equipment has not only addressed the immediate requirements of the CopStrong programme but has laid the groundwork for a sustainable and evolving fitness infrastructure.”

By prioritising operational fitness and creating an environment conducive to comprehensive training, Police Scotland has significantly contributed to the health, safety and effectiveness of their officers on duty.

The BeaverFit team will be showcasing how they assist Police Forces across the UK at Security & Policing, the official UK Government global security event, between 12th-14th March 2024.
