The role of a Bristol Airport Firefighter is not what you would expect. Despite its name, it is not all about fighting fires. Whilst responding to emergency situations and requests for help will be part of the job, being a fire fighter involves so much more.

The role is more about prevention and readiness than actually fighting fires – emergencies are rare but can be intense when they happen, so being prepared is everything. Successful candidates will spend a lot of time learning, studying and taking part in drills and simulation exercises, equipping them with the knowledge and skills they will need to be able to respond confidently and correctly when it counts most.

Debbie Hartshorn, People Director,  Bristol Airport said: “Our fire fighters come from a variety of backgrounds such as teachers and builders so bring with them different skills and experiences to strengthen our team. Being a fire fighter at Bristol Airport means being part of the Bristol Airport family, working in a supportive environment, being proactive and meeting high, professional standards every day.  If you are looking for a change of direction, enjoy learning and value teamwork then we would love to hear from you.”
