With over two decades of experience in the airline industry, Johannes has a proven track record for developing commercial products that answer to the customers’ needs, expanding market reach, and driving revenue growth in geographically diverse regions. Prior to joining Cathay Pacific, Johannes held key leadership positions in various airlines, including Vice President Europe for Qatar Airways.
Johannes said “the European market plays an integral part of the Cathay Pacific’s network as we connect major European metropoles with China and cities across the Asia Pacific region via our home Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific has provided continuous essential air services between Asia and Europe throughout the pandemic and reinventing our product offerings to cater to the changing needs of our customers. As more and more countries in Asia open, we are excited to reconnect the two continents”.
“I look forward to working with our partners, our customers and my fabulous team so that Cathay Pacific is always at the forefront in the leisure and corporate markets, and we will continue to be the airline of choice for those travelling to and from the APAC region” added Johannes.
Welcoming Johannes to the team, Cathay Pacific’s Regional General Manager Europe Kinto Chan said: “It is a pleasure to welcome Paul to our dynamic European team, where his unparalleled experience and inspiring drive for results will surely be of invaluable importance as we step up the momentum to renew connections between Hong Kong, Asia and Europe. Paul’s new role is not only critical to shepherding this upward trajectory, but also reinforcing the transformation of our airline into one of the world’s greatest service brands.”
Cathay Pacific has rapidly resumed services within its European network since summer 2022 including multiple daily flights from the UK to Hong Kong. The airline is set to recommence services to Madrid, Milan and Zurich in the fourth quarter.
Johannes will be joining the European team based in London.
