Israir, the Israel-based travel group, became launch customer for the PF3000 in early 2018, fitting it to three Airbus A320 aircraft, each with 180 seats in a 3+3 configuration at 30in pitch. The aircraft are operated on scheduled and charter flights to various destinations in Europe and Israel.

The new order is for the fifth A320 to join the fleet, which has just completed a lease transition check and cabin reconfiguration at the BCT Aviation MRO facility in Shannon, Republic of Ireland.

Michael Rice, CEO of Causeway Aero Group, said: “We are very grateful that Israir has selected us once again, proving that the PF3000 is an excellent product.

"For this project, the timescale from receiving the order to delivering the seats was a remarkable two weeks. That was achieved because we understand the time constraints on leasing companies, MROs and airlines to get aircraft back into service as soon as possible and so we always hold a shipset in stock, even though our standard production lead time is an impressively short six weeks.

"That understanding is helped by the fact that our Lisburn facility is only four hours by road from Shannon and its MRO cluster and only two hours from Dublin, where 50% of the world’s major leasing companies are headquartered.”

Shlomi Sharabani, VP Procurement & Operations at Israir, said: “The PF3000 has performed extremely well in the time it has been in service, with the passengers really appreciating the design, comfort and living space it provides while the airline has found it to be very robust and easy to maintain, with excellent product support from Causeway.”

Shmulik Sevish, VP Maintenance & Engineering at Israir, added: "This was a very fast deal. A quick installation was needed to save on transportation costs and deliver the aircraft on a pre-determined date. This could only have been achieved with Causeway’s help."

Causeway Aero Group is based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.
