The programme will provide vital support to the Joint Electronic Warfare Operational Support Centre (JEWOSC), with CGI leading an industry team of partners including SRC, MASS, DXC and Metrea to sustain and enhance mission-critical Electromagnetic Warfare Operational Support (EWOS) capabilities across UK Defence.

SOTERIA underpins the JEWOSC’s role as the UK Defence authority for generating Electromagnetic Warfare (EW) and intelligence mission data. Together, the capabilities provide essential threat recognition, improved situational awareness and, enhanced platform protection. The programme will sustain and enhance the iDEWDb system, a UK Defence critical asset over an initial three-year period, with options to extend support through to 2032.

This contract continues CGI’s long-standing partnership with the JEWOSC, building on the successful delivery of Project SHEPHERD since 2011, providing support to EW mission data.

Under SOTERIA, CGI and its partners will:

  • Deliver secure, resilient, and high-availability support to the iDEWDb, including its core applications.
  • Provide on-site operational support to ensure continuity of critical EW outputs.
  • Evolve and enhance support capabilities through a combination of hybrid Agile SAFe methodologies and traditional delivery approaches, ensuring SOTERIA can rapidly transform EW data to keep pace with the increasingly contested and congested electromagnetic battlespace.
  • Maintain and enhance mission-critical data services, supporting UK Defence intelligence outputs and operational situation awareness.

Neil Timms, Senior Vice President of Space, Defence & Intelligence UK & Australia at CGI said: “The award of SOTERIA reflects our deep expertise and long-standing role in delivering secure, mission-critical systems for Defence. Working with partners SRC, MASS, DXC and Metrea, we will continue to deliver and evolve the mission data services that enable JEWOSC to protect the UK and deployed operations. This builds directly on our successful delivery of Project SHEPHERD and demonstrates the MOD’s confidence in our ability to sustain and enhance secure mission-critical digital services.”

Leveraging CGI’s 50 years of experience delivering end-to-end services that drive innovation and operational excellence across the government and defence sectors, the programme will include specialist support to ensure a rapid response to operational demands while driving continuous system improvement, innovation and security assurance underpinning UK mission data capability.
