Chapman Freeborn is delighted to announce it has strengthened its position in the Russian market with two new senior managerial appointments.

The global aircraft charter specialist - which opened its new Moscow office earlier this year - has named Alexey Zuev (right) as commercial director, with responsibility for expanding the group’s activity in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

In an aviation career spanning more than 20 years, he has worked in a variety of senior sales and project management roles for companies including Panalpina World Transport, DHL and Volga-Dnepr Airlines.

His most recent position before joining Chapman Freeborn was as general manager for SkyLink Aviation in Russia where he oversaw large-scale aviation projects and government charter contracts for fixed-wing and helicopter operations worldwide.

Working alongside Alexey in the management of Chapman Freeborn’s Moscow office is Dmitri Kourenkov (left), who   has been appointed to the role of operations director.

Dmitri joined Chapman Freeborn in 2008 and previously held the position of flight operations manager in the United  Arab Emirates where he helped to coordinate cargo airlift projects from the company’s Sharjah base.

He has over 15 years of aviation industry experience, having previously worked in senior operations roles at a  number of different airlines.

In addition to cargo charter operations, Chapman Freeborn’s Moscow team also provides a full range of private jet charter solutions and large passenger  aircraft for corporate clients and group travel requirements.

The private jet division has also been strengthened by the recent arrival of London-based Natalia Bazenova to the position of executive charter sales for Russia and CIS.

Commenting on the new appointments, Russi Batliwala, CEO of the Chapman Freeborn Group, said: “I’m confident that we have assembled the perfect team to expand all of our core products in Russia and the CIS. While Chapman Freeborn has been working with Russian clients and airline suppliers for many years, these appointments consolidate our position in the market and respond to the growing demand for our services.”
