Cobham counter-IED expert awarded CBE

David John Daniels, who works for Cobham's Antenna Systems business in Leatherhead, was appointed a Commander of the Most Excellent Order of The British Empire (CBE) in the Queen's birthday honours list 2012 list published on 16 June 2012, for 'Services to the defence industry'.

David Daniels said: “I am delighted by this appointment. Having worked on the development of radar and radio frequency technology for many years to counter the menace of landmines, improvised explosive devices and other threats, it is gratifying that this work has helped those working and living on the front line and doing landmine clearance in many countries throughout the world. I am proud, together with my many talented colleagues, to have contributed to engineering technology to counter such threats. Science and engineering makes a major contribution to the prosperity and reputation of the United Kingdom.”
