DSEI: Thales introduces new Wideband ready naval HF radio
As well as making HF a more reliable and robust form of communication, Wideband HF makes data rates of 100 kbps over 100 nautical miles a reality.
Thales' ground-breaking non-contiguous technique has been presented at the annual High Frequency Industry Association conference. Customer demonstrations of this technique which comprise both the non-contiguous and 110C contiguous standard will be available next year.
Building on Thales’s experience of designing one of the world’s largest HF systems for the UK RN Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers, MSN 8200 delivers excellent RF performance, interoperability with all major naval standards, and optimisation for the naval environment.
