EasyJet makes inaugural flight from Gatwick to Luxembourg

EasyJet today celebrated the launch of its new route between London Gatwick and Luxembourg.

It will be the first low cost carrier to operate on this key business route which is also popular with leisure passengers taking short breaks to the city or exploring this diverse region of Europe covering Germany and France, including the famous Champagne region.

EasyJet’s first flight to Luxembourg was operated by an easyJet Luxembourger First Officer Michel Castellucci. The aircraft was greeted by a water cannons welcome at the arrival.

"We believe that our services will be popular and will be able to meet the business demand expectations. More than 50,000 passengers are expected to fly on the route on the first year of operations. easyJet has proved again and again that when we enter a new market we open it up enabling more people to travel on the route.
