The company also provides EASA Part 145 for avionics maintenance, and is a trusted supplier to Police and OGDs in the UK and overseas and also has GCAA (Gulf CAA) design approval.

The tie up will enable ECS to offer integration services as part of its one-stop solution for air-to-ground datalink systems. The Northamptonshire firm has dominated the UK Security Sector for more than 10 years with a range of air-to-ground and ground-to-ground radio links based on the Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) technique.

ECS MD Colin Bullock said: “This complementary arrangement will enable either company to offer a sole source contracting approach to end users wishing to enhance the surveillance/ communication capability of their existing aircraft.”

Tony Okill, Phoenix MD said: “The new expansion of Phoenix is due to be completed by the end of May 2012 and enable us to offer much enhanced design facilities to our client base.”
