Emirates resumes flights from Gatwick

Emirates officially resumes its Gatwick service today, reconnecting people and businesses across the South of England with its growing global network.

Flight EK015 will land at Gatwick at 11:40 and return flight EK016 will depart at 13:35, arriving in Dubai (DXB) tomorrow at 00:40 (all times local).

The Gatwick resumption follows the quick restart of operations to London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Newcastle airports over recent months as the airline has responded to passenger demand. UK bookings to many destinations across Emirates global network have already returned to 2019 levels including popular holiday destinations like the Maldives, Mauritius and Dubai itself.

The Gatwick service will operate daily and takes Emirates’ total UK weekly flights to 84. A second daily flight from Gatwick is also scheduled to start from 27th January 2022.

December will also see Emirates reopen lounges across UK hubs, including at Birmingham and Manchester. Glasgow and Gatwick’s lounges will follow, re-opening in January.

Emirates is fully committed to the UK and we have operated flights from the airport for over 30 years, providing vital connectivity to Dubai and beyond for passengers travelling for business, leisure or to visit friends and family. The route has also carried billions of pounds worth of cargo into and out of the region - supporting UK businesses of all shapes and sizes.”

Stephanie Wear, VP of Aviation Development, Gatwick Airport said: “We are delighted to welcome Emirates and the magnificent A380 aircraft back to Gatwick. Their daily flights to Dubai will open up a fantastic range of destinations in Asia, Africa and beyond to passengers across the south-east.”

Emirates currently offers a six times daily A380 London Heathrow service, double daily A380 flights to Manchester, a ten-weekly service to Birmingham, a daily service to Glasgow, a four-weekly service to Newcastle.

The increase in operations will make it easier for those in the UK to access Emirates’ growing global network of 120 destinations - close to 90% of Emirates’ pre-pandemic network.
