Farnborough Aerospace Consortium will bring its largest-ever group of exhibitors to Farnborough International Airshow this month, as aerospace and defence SMEs look to connect with primes, international delegations and new customers.

FAC said more than 20 exhibitors will join its stand at the show, which takes place in Farnborough and remains one of the global aerospace sector’s most important industry events. The consortium represents around 200 businesses nationally and internationally, with a particular focus on the south and south-east of England.

The organisation said its presence at the airshow would support members seeking to promote their capabilities, enter major supply chains and make the most of international business opportunities.

FAC to showcase aerospace and defence SMEs at Farnborough

Alan Fisher, chief executive of FAC, said the airshow is important not only for aerospace, aviation, defence and space, but also for the wider UK economy.

“Most of our members are SMEs and it is SMEs that form the backbone of the UK economy,” he said. “We have well over 20 exhibitors joining us on our sustainable stand, which is in a prime location and will catch visitors’ eyes.

“Our membership has grown quickly over the last year, and many are involved in developing advanced technologies and making breakthroughs.”

FAC said a number of international delegations are expected to visit its stand during the show to meet exhibitors and discuss potential requirements.

Fisher added: “At FAC we help these great companies win business with the major multi-national companies and become part of their supply chains.

“We will be helping our members make the most of these opportunities and to build networks.”

Farnborough Airshow to highlight new aerospace technologies

The consortium said the airshow comes as new technologies, including sustainable aviation fuel, drones, UAVs, artificial intelligence and electric power, move closer to mainstream adoption.

Fisher said: “It is therefore essential that British businesses are enabled, empowered and assisted in being at the forefront of the new world.

“Britain’s aerospace history began in Farnborough, and we will be doing our bit to ensure Farnborough remains at the centre of the sector.”

FAC will be located in Hall 1, stand 1317.
