With 9,000 live vacancies in the aerospace sector alone and a commitment to create 25,000 new apprenticeships across the industry by 2030, according to MakeUK and ADS Group, there is fierce competition for specialist skills. Designed to inspire and educate students aged 15 and upwards, the Make the Future Yours! Live event series and Farnborough International will provide a vital and meaningful opportunity to close the increasing skills gaps and increase diversity in the workforce, bringing together students of varied demographics, employers, professional bodies, higher education, and careers professionals in one room.

Gareth Rogers, CEO, Farnborough International Limited, said: “Future workforce has been a developing theme across our entire events portfolio, building up to our Pioneers of Tomorrow event during Farnborough International Airshow, which is attended by thousands of young people and students. However, with the mounting need to secure its future workforce, while bridging the skills gap, we felt it was vital to provide the industry with regular opportunities throughout the year to build their profiles as aspirational employers to the next generation.

“Working with The Future Business will enable us to do just that while industry is already in attendance at our events, supporting them in reaching their wider business objectives. I look forward to working with David and his team to actively facilitate vocational opportunities and connect industry with the people and skills required to inspire the business leaders of tomorrow.”

David Hewlett, CEO and Founder of The Future Business, added: “We are thrilled to be working with Farnborough International and bringing our leading Make the Future Yours! Live series to their award-winning events. As an industry, we need to ensure there is plenty of opportunities to bring employers and the future workforce together at this level for quite some time and with the support of our expert team and partners, we will be providing an unmissable experience to generate the next generation of leaders.”
