Flybe Aviation Services receives dual appointment from Bombardier

Flybe Aviation Services - the aircraft maintenance division of UK Exeter-based Flybe, Europe's largest regional airline - has today been appointed by Bombardier as an Authorised Service Facility (ASF) for Bombardier CRJ regional jets. This appointment adds to Flybe's previous Dash 8/Q-Series* ASF designation creating an important milestone with Flybe now having become the only Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in the world to hold Bombardier ASF status for the two regional airliner families.

The official signing took place during the four-day 2012 All Series Bombardier Operators Conference. Present at the ceremony were Todd Young, Vice President, Customer Services & Support, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and Director of Commercial and Sales for Flybe Aviation Services, Marshall Barrand.

Mr Barrand said: “The addition of Bombardier’s CRJ product line to our existing Dash 8 / Q-Series authorisation is an honour and testament to the professionalism of all our staff.

“This is a significant development in our relationship with Bombardier and we now look forward to extending our already well-established programme of support as Bombardier continues to widen its market position across the regional aviation sector.”

Commenting on this historic agreement, Mr. Young said: ”Flybe has been a valued partner in ensuring the success of Bombardier operators in the region. The expansion of ASF capabilities is a significant progression of our strong relationship and a testament to Flybe’s high level of technical expertise and experience.”

Flybe Aviation Services has established an enviable global reputation over the past 25 years offering a comprehensive and ever increasing range of cost-efficient maintenance services through its ‘one stop’ Aviation Services’ workshops. The state of the art facility, housed in the impressive New Walker Hangar, is the largest regional maintenance facility in Europe from which the company supports a diverse and impressive international cohort of high profile customers.

Mr Barrand added: “We are extremely upbeat about the future of Flybe Aviation Services. We are especially delighted to have been given this recognition by Bombardier that firmly positions us as a global MRO leader. It is just one more important step towards us realising our potential of expanding ever further our maintenance and workshop capabilities.”
