G4S to provide BA security at Heathrow and Gatwick

G4S Aviation Services (UK) Ltd (G4S) has won a new three year contract to provide security solutions to British Airways at Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.

Starting from this month, G4S Aviation Services (UK) will provide a range of security services at London Heathrow and Gatwick airports including: staff, passenger, baggage and cargo screening; document and biometric verification; aircraft protection; firearms handling; incident response services; and building and asset security.

Adrian Tighe, managing director of G4S Transport and Borders (UK) said: “We have been working closely with British Airways for over a decade and are delighted to be continuing our long-standing relationship as an integral part of their security arrangements. This contract will allow us to work in partnership with BA developing improved processes and enhancing levels of customer service.”

The contract is expected to guarantee positions for over 600 people in the London and South East areas.

G4S will provide services to British Airways’ operations at London Heathrow Airports Terminals 1, 3 & 5 and Gatwick Airport, including the airline’s engineering and cargo facilities.
