GKN Aerospace showcases growing business scope at NBAA 2015

GKN Aerospace will be promoting the extended scope of its business following the recent completion of the acquisition of Fokker Technologies, at NBAA, 17th - 19th November, 2015, in Las Vegas.

Exhibits will span the company’s transparencies, aerostructures and engine systems operations, with representatives on hand to discuss these, as well as the contribution from Fokker Technologies - which extends the aerostructures activity and adds landing gear, wiring systems and an extensive aftermarket operation.

Daniele Cagnatel, Senior Vice President, Business Development and Strategy, GKN Aerospace commented: “The inclusion of Fokker Technologies into the GKN Aerospace operation strengthens our offering to the business aviation sector.

"It extends our core aerostructures activity and brings in key complementary capabilities as well as expanding our global presence and broadening our technological offering.”

GKN Aerospace will display:

  •     The extra-large sized passenger cabin window (pcw) for the Global 7000 / 8000 long range business jet. These windows bring far more natural light into the cabin and incorporate the company’s CrystalVue I abrasion-resistant coating for the longest on-wing life of any pcw available today. GKN Aerospace also supplies the low weight, all glass, “plug” design cockpit windows for these aircraft.
  •     An aileron for the C Series regional jet, representing technology that is applicable to business aircraft and is already being supplied for the Global 7000 and Global 8000.
  •     An engine inlet and door for the Honeywell HTF7000 engine. GKN Aerospace supplies the complete nacelle system for this engine, delivering the engine, fully integrated into the nacelle. Today over 600 aircraft are flying with this highly successful multi-use nacelle system.

The company’s entire product range is backed by aftermarket services which work in close partnership with airframe and aero-engine manufacturers and with owners and operators to ensure efficient, competitive aircraft operation.

In a recent development, GKN Aerospace has launched a new transparencies aftermarket service (TAS) which offers comprehensive window repair, framing and exchange. Initially operating from the company’s facility in Garden Grove, CA, GKN Aerospace expects to open TAS facilities in Europe during 2016 and Asia by mid-2017.
