Inter-Tec set to expand presence in Prestwick's Aerospace Park and worldwide

Inter-Tec Services Limited - an aerospace design, certification and analysis consultancy based in Ayrshire, Scotland - is expanding its customer base globally and to accommodate its expanding business is consequently looking to to move to bigger offices within the Aerospace Park in Prestwick later this year.

In recent years, the company - which has been providing solutions to the aerospace market for over 15 years - has endured the economic downturn along with the rest of the sector. Having had to temporarily downsize, they re-strategised their plans for growth and took the decision to invest in services to enhance their offering. These crucial actions have resulted in a reversal of fortune for the business and accordingly 2012 is shaping up to be an exciting year with considerable growth and development in sight.

Understanding the need to add significantly to the company’s services, Fred Gorrie, Managing Director, and his team, have worked hard to achieve EASA Part 21 Subpart J Design Organisation Approval (EASA.21J.495), the European Aviation certification standard which reinforces the company’s capability to offer effective solutions to all design and modifications requirements across a wide range of aircraft types within the helicopter and airline operator sectors across the world. This approval in addition to the essential and innovative work they perform within the general aerospace markets has strengthened Inter-Tec’s position as a complete one-stop consultancy.

Fred Gorrie, Managing Director says, “This enhances our reputation in the sector as a highly competent provider of design and certification services. I am confident it will help fuel growth in the business and lead to additional engineering jobs in the area.”

Apart from expanding their domestic and European markets, Inter-Tec is now on target to expand its customer base within the growing Middle East and Asian markets where Mr.Gorrie is confident their level of expertise and skills will be much sought after. Plans for the next 3 to 5 years are to establish the business within these markets and potentially establish offices in the Middle East and South East Asia.

This can only be a good thing for Ayrshire and Scottish economy with a significant number of highly skilled positions being created to support this level of growth. The company has now outgrown their current premises and plans are underway to move to bigger offices within the Aerospace Park in Prestwick this year. Over the next three years, Mr. Gorrie expects to double his staff numbers as well as employ staff abroad.

“We look forward with optimism to the business opportunities that lie ahead and to playing a small part to ensure the future prosperity of the Aerospace and Defence sector in Scotland.”

The future looks very promising and Inter-Tec look forward to becoming a leading engineering consultancy within the UK whilst maintaining the highest levels of service to their customers around the world.
