Intertek showcasing transportation tech testing at DVD 2016

Intertek will be demonstrating its assurance, testing, inspection and certification capabilities to the defence industry at this year's DVD 2016 event on 7- 8 September.

At this two-day event, experts from across the Intertek Group will showcase to the defence purchasing industry, Intertek’s Transportation Technologies capabilities, which include vehicle powertrain testing, fuel and lubricant analysis, specialist trouble-shooting and advisory capabilities, and its other safety or quality related services such as uniform, personal protective equipment and body armour testing.

Intertek already supports many parts of the defence industry with its expert assurance, testing, inspection, certification and advisory services and is keen to expand its support for the industry to maximise the quality and safety standards of the UK armed forces. Experts from the Intertek Transportation Technologies division’s state-of-the-art powertrain testing laboratory in Milton Keynes will be on hand to offer advice and support on the latest developments in electric and hybrid powertrain development.

The Transportation Technologies laboratory in Tanners Drive, Milton Keynes currently works with the best of the world’s automotive industry, including luxury and high performance automotive manufacturers, to develop the latest state of the art low emissions, high performance driveline solutions and is on hand at DVD2016 to pass this knowledge to the defence industry to drive the next generation of fuel efficient, low noise, low heat signature military vehicles.

Intertek will also be showcasing its world-leading Sunbury, Farnborough and West Thurrock laboratories which carry out both routine and problem-solving fuel and lubricant analysis, as well as providing expert consultancy and advisory services for a number of defence industry clients, including the MoD Intertek also works extensively throughout the MoD and its supply chain offering a variety of specialised textile testing and certification from its UK laboratories (including for apparel, protective clothing, body armour and tentage).
